These are places I’ve contacted and published, everyone on this list has been around for years
Make a living writing, usually has a lot of resources but they also pay decent for writing about writing!
Listverse has always been one of my favorites and it’s been almost a decade of watching them grow!
Cracked is pretty good and they used to have a ‘training system’ to get people into writing.
The Sun has been around forever and they’ve accepted unsolicited writings of different varieties for as long as I can remember
Cosmo is a magazine everyone knows
We have some bonus lesser heard of companies as well

FreelanceMom is a community for moms who believe that women can still be who they are after becoming a mom. It’s a niche community but it has always been open for submissions. They pay $75 to $100 per accepted article

Finally we’ll end at one of the easiest places to get published and paid. Hubpages is a revenue-sharing site that pays per view. It starts off small but builds over time and its perfect for first-timers
